Recognised by Hypebeast | 2x Shortlisted at Dubai Lynx Day 1 of the brief, my CCO asked me, “Hey, do you play cricket?” Only a foreigner can ask that to an Indian woman. But I loved the absence of assumptions—it was refreshing. What was even more refreshing? Being asked to write about a game I’ve grown up watching, loving, and silently aching not to be part of. Indian girls weren’t exactly handed bats growing up. But we did watch. We did know every stat. And we did feel it in our bones. So, I said yes. And just like that, I was in. We kicked things off by scripting two social-first docu-series—Play the City Part 1 and 2—which sparked some real conversations and social buzz. And then came the rollercoaster: Meeting the real players. Designing jerseys inspired by their streets. Recceing dusty lots and writing scripts in 'Hinglish' that felt like home. Our team spanned three continents. The drama kept adding up. So did the imposter syndromes. And somewhere between the meltdowns, the cricket, and the late-night edits, it all came together. This wasn’t a brand story. It was our story. And it’s as real as it gets.
